Clutch Time.

5 Acceptances

9 Rejections

Where are you in the process?  (apps, acceptances, denials, financial aid, etc.)

As of now, I've concluded my College application wait. I have heard from majority of my Colleges. So far I am in the position of choosing which school I'd possibly intend of the  5 great school that I go into. Knowing what colleges i have been accepted, now my final decision will be based on how much money im able to receive from financial aid. Once i find that definite calculation, i will haveto see how much my tuition is covered by military benefits my father earns. By then I will compare the military benefit i would get for Chico State and what i will earn from FASFA for Notre Dame.

As college gets closer (by the day!), how are you feeling about it?  How is your family?

At home I have been constantly told that I should just attend San Jose State University. Because SJSU is the cheaper and least expensive. In addition my dad constantly tells me that i should just live at home. In my response, I do not want to live and commute to college. I think living with my parents and going to school will make me feel too sheltered and not truly grow as an individual. For that reason i

What decisions have been made at this point?

NOW... that the waiting has finally ended. I am currently in the process of looking for which school i will Intend to enroll (ITE). Unfortunately, for my top two choices

As of now my top two choices are between Chico state vs. Notre Dame De Namur. Then third is SFSU.

What's on your mind?

Lately what has been on my mind is visiting the colleges i have not seen. I have seen Notre Dame, but not SFSU and Chico. Also whats on my mind is the money for paying the college. My dad has not been able to file his taxes.

The hard phase of being a Senior

STRESS

Fall- College applications

(January-March)- FASFA, Scholarships, Family Financial Sit.

Family

 Older Brothers

In my family, College has always been in the mindset for both my brother and I. My older brother who graduated from UCSB has always influenced us that college is a must to be able to succeed in this world. From time to time countless times he would often ask about what are our plans for college, which schools we are considering, start saving up. There a certain extent where it is helpful to have an older sibling to help motivate you. However there's a limit to when people don't have to question of every action at home should revolve all around college. For example, playing a video on some down time after a long day, my older would ask "you should be spending your time on college, than your time on that game". But honestly I feel like some-days i need some "me" time, to enjoy that i am able to remain a kid, right now- at this very moment. All in all, i love my older brother for showing me a path to my future, but he shouldn't really breath through my neck about my life.

 Parents

Amongst my dad and my mom, college has been in their mindset the very day we got into high school and that when it hit them. My brother and are twins therefore it will be double: double the college tuition, double the cars, double the food to buy, double everything. Although almost a decade ago my older brother was in the situation in his senior year-applying to financial aid, and scholarships and other worries, he was just one single person. As of now we are in the stage of waiting for my dad for the final reports of the taxes for last year 2012. However in their heads they have accepted that my brother and I will be going into college, and im happy they support that! :)

Question Time!

1.  What are you stressed about right now?  Why is it stressing you out?

-As of today, i think what i am really stressed out is figuring a way to finish my FAFSA on information for financially. I am stressed out because like previous year my siblings asked my dad about information about the income tax.

2.  What steps are you taking to alleviate your stress?  What more could you do to manage your stress?

-I think my steps that I have found to alleviate the stress if its anything involving to ask my parents anything, is to keep asking- until it is done, therefor when its done there is no more stress any longer. ASK ASK ASK ASK ASK= DONE! The power of persistence! Other methods i have found to manage the stress is simply writing out my process of getting the thing done. Being able to just write it down relieves the stress to keep in my mind, where in my head it lingers and continues to annoy the shit out of me...

3.  What are 2 things you are looking forward to in the next month?

FEBRUARY
1) Winter Formal

2)WINTER BREAK! :)))

4.  Where are you in the college process right now?  (waiting, heard back from___, still need to ___, etc.)
Be honest and thoughtful in your response.  Remember, unless you share your blog's address with your classmates, nobody from our class will see these but me!!

 As of now...

I am still waiting for UC Santa Barbara, UCRiverside, UC Santa Cruz,  SDSU, SJSU, CSULB, Sac state

i am in the process of finishing up a mid year report to UCSD for last semester grades.

Its Almost Time!

AUGUST

In the past, Upper classmen said that "Senior year is easy, and applying to college isn't really that difficult"-They were wrong.

August- The first day of the senior year, I Arrived to school with fresh new clothes, a new hair cut style and a stomach full of butterflies. All mix feelings.
But for sure, ready.

The first class that i soon found on my senior schedule was my favorite class, AVID.
When we entered the classroom, we found there were fewer faces in the classroom.
The vibe of the room was solemn, yet happy for those of us who finally made it to senior year.

The rest of the day it was entirely boring introduction.

Luckily on the first day of school was the first day of practice for the new sport i participated, Cross-Country. To be honest, for a fall sport my mom gave me the only option to play CC, rather than Football. She was worried that being my size, i was prone to be injured sooner or later. She did not want to see that.

So i began the senior fall season participating in running! :)
